AI Meishi — Privacy Policy
This is a reference translation of the Japanese original. If there is any discrepancy between this English version and the Japanese version, the Japanese version prevails.
NETSTARS CO., LTD. (the "Company") handles the personal information of users of "AI Meishi" (including the LINE MINI App and the card pages; the "Service") as set out below. Matters not covered by this policy are governed by the Company's Personal Information Protection Policy.
1. Personal information we collect
- Information from LINE: with your consent at LINE Login, your LINE user identifier, display name and profile image.
- Information you enter: the name, company name, title, phone number and email address registered in "My card", and contact details entered on a card page.
- Conversations: messages you send on a card page, and replies from the AI assistant and sales representatives.
- Usage information: when you opened a card, additions to the card holder, operations such as hiding or deleting conversations, access times, and device settings such as display language.
- Information about sales representatives (business users): account information for the Service, information shown on their cards, and the identifier and display name of the linked LINE account.
2. When we collect it
When you log in to the LINE MINI App, open a card page, send a message, register "My card" or use "Hand over my card", and when you otherwise use the Service.
3. Purposes of use
- For the AI assistant to answer your questions based on the card and materials registered by the issuing company
- To hand over matters the AI cannot answer (prices, contracts, individual consultations, etc.) to the issuing company and its sales representative
- To provide the Service's features, such as the card holder, the inquiries list and My card
- To deliver your card information to the other company when you use "Hand over my card"
- To prevent misuse, handle failures, and improve the quality of the Service
- To respond to inquiries
4. Provision to the issuing company
The Service connects users with companies through business cards of sales representatives issued by companies (the Company's business customers). When you open a card and start a conversation, we provide the following information only to the company that issued that card, and never to other companies:
- The contents of your conversation on that company's card
- Your LINE display name, profile image, and part of your LINE user identifier (a few characters to tell apart people with the same name)
- Card information and contact details you hand over with "Hand over my card"
If you only open a card without starting a conversation, that fact is not provided to the company. If you delete a conversation in the "Inquiries" list, it is removed from your view, but records already provided to the company remain as the company's business records (the company sees that you deleted your records).
Other than the above, and except as required by law, we do not provide personal information to third parties without your consent.
5. Outsourcing
To the extent necessary to achieve the purposes of use, the Company may entrust the handling of personal information to the following parties. We select parties that take appropriate security measures and supervise them as necessary and appropriate.
- Generating AI answers: OpenAI, L.L.C. (United States)
- Operating servers and databases: cloud service providers
6. Provision to third parties in foreign countries
To generate the AI assistant's answers, we send conversation contents, and the card and the issuing company's materials, to OpenAI, L.L.C. in the United States.
- Country: United States
- That country's personal information protection system: see the survey of personal information protection systems in foreign countries published by Japan's Personal Information Protection Commission.
- Measures taken by the recipient: OpenAI has published policies stating that it does not use data received through its API to train AI models, and setting retention periods for abuse monitoring. The Company uses the service after confirming its data handling policies.
7. Security measures
To prevent unauthorized access to, and leakage, loss or damage of, personal information, the Company takes necessary and appropriate security measures, including access control, encryption in transit and separation of data by company. One company's conversations and user information cannot be viewed by other companies.
8. Retention
Personal information is retained for as long as necessary to achieve the purposes of use and deleted appropriately once no longer needed. Conversation records provided to an issuing company are retained in accordance with the contract with that company.
9. Voluntary provision
LINE Login is required to use the LINE MINI App. Registering "My card" and entering contact details are optional; without them you can still view cards and talk with the AI assistant.
10. Requests for disclosure, etc.
In accordance with the law, you may request notification of the purposes of use, disclosure, correction, addition or deletion, suspension of use or erasure, suspension of provision to third parties, and disclosure of records of provision to third parties, regarding your personal information held by the Company. Please contact the desk below. We will respond in accordance with the law after verifying your identity.
11. Changes to this policy
The Company may change this policy in response to changes in laws or in the Service. We will announce important changes on the Service or on the Company's website.
